一、內容：
This course aims at introducing and practicing the techniques of in-depth research paper writing. However, the first semester will concentrate on rehearsing and improving essay writings for various goals, including cause-and-effect analysis, persuasive argument, logical reasoning, etc. Besides, two small researches will be done with a view to warm up for the research paper in the second semester.

The Writing Process by John M. Lannon. 5th Ed.

三、成績評量方式：
In-class discussion (10%); oral reports (20%); written assignments (70%).

四、注意事項：
(1) Without justifiable reasons, no late assignments will be accepted.
(2) Late assignments will be down-graded by 5 points each day.
(3) Assignments later than two weeks will receive an F.
(4) Any student who misses more than three sessions (i.e. nine hours) of class or accumulate three F`s on assignments fails the course.
